Why Do the Tears Fall?
Why do the tears fall?
The rain falls for the clouds are heavy.
The snow falls for the air is cold.
The leaves fall for the age is weathering.
But, listen, my friend,
Your tears are not the same.
They fall because of an unyielding courage
To hold all the weight of life in your open arms,
For a foolhardy promise,
A relentless longing,
That which we might fail to grasp,
That which, despite all, grants us the very strength,
To face the heavy clouds, cold air, and weathering age.
Your tears fall,
For the smile of the next sunrise
